Effective change management helps to create change request either based on an existing requirement or as a new feature. Simultaneously, it associates change requests to existing requirements to develop new versions of the concerned requirement. Change management also lets developers to provide impact analysis information for every change request for the test team for effective regression testing.
However, in order to reap these benefits the organization or the business must select these tools carefully. But how these tools should be selected or what are the factors that an organization or business should keep in mind? Here are some of the factors discussed.
Understanding the goal of your organization is the first step of selecting any Change Management Tools. Each organization has its own way of working and thus the infrastructure varies. So, in case if one management tools works effectively for one organization, the same might fail to offer the benefits related to it. The management thus must consider the types of changes as well as the structure of the organization before selecting any such tools along with the features offered by it.
The demand for such tools have increased in the past few years and many vendors are now offering such tools with amazing features. Before selecting such tools the management must carefully study these features to ensure it will fit into the workflow and prove beneficial for the structure of the organization.
Buying these tools is equal to investment and thus the management must allot a budget. It would be great if lists of change management tools are enlisted based on the organizational infrastructure as well as the present requirement and condition of the organization. This will ensure a wise investment for a better future of the organization and the employees.
However, it is also important to remember that only buying quality Change Management Tools will not benefit the organization. Before implementing any change all the levels of the organization must be aware of the upcoming changes. This will ensure that everybody in the organization is mentally prepared to face the changes. Sometimes, changes might give rise of several query or confusion and that must be addressed immediately. Under these circumstances conducting training would be sensible.
The first step of any organization lies in understanding the kinds of changes they want. It will help the organization to shortlist the tools that meet with the requirements perfectly. The procedure takes time no doubt but it will only ensure that the investment is made for right tools.
Secondly, the organization must understand the environment where change is taking place followed by what the change actually is, approaches and activities applied to manage change relevant to content and context. In this connection an organization must have a clear reason of change to understand the benefits of change management.
Before implementing any Change Management Tools the organization must ensure that tools are not harming the present infrastructure. It must have the capability to merge with organization and continue offering the benefits with the existing infrastructure. The tools must not replace the benefits or create hindrance in existing workflow. Tools are being implemented to add pace to work, reach customers, understand their need and most importantly save time.
During selection the organization must ensure that tools are easy to implement, understand, easy communicate to others and simple. Any changes create issue and thus organization must ensure that these queries are answered properly. It helps the organization to reap the benefits expected from effective change management.
Presently, many vendors offer trial version of management tools to help organization select the right one. Opting for such version would be great as it helps to get the real picture. Majority of the tools claims to have stunning features that might not prove beneficial for certain structure of the organization. Implementing a trial version would clear these doubts and help organization to invest money in right tools.
Lastly, the organization must ensure that the vendors are well-equipped and have proper infrastructure to offer technical help and support. Change Management Tools can prove to be extremely beneficial if selected properly. The organization must take time in selection procedure to reap all benefits and achieve profit targets within stipulated time.

Release of Remote Site Tool Kit:
DSI has announced the launch of “Remote Job Site Tool Kit”, targeted for contractors who want to track who has their tools at each job site. “I’m impressed with the simplicity and adaptability of your tool management system. It’s affordable for all contractors, even those with just a few employees,” stated Bill Allen, Process Consultant to the construction industry.
Cost Justification:
If it requires one minute checking a tool out or in, and if your staff spends even 20 minutes a day searching for tools, the overhead savings is dramatic. “Loss and theft of tools is a major overhead cost (estimated at over $1 billion a year) for the construction and manufacturing industry. Our customers see a typical payback for the Tool Manager within 3-4 months,” states Alison Falco, President of Dynamic Systems.

He will be doing Waterfowl Carving demos throughout the day Saturday Oct. 27th, 2012. Please make sure to stop in and see his beautiful work while at this year's Woodworking Extravaganza!
About Jerry Talton:
Jerry is both an avid waterfowler and carver who carves mostly for his own use, focusing mainly on the traditional methods and materials of the Core Sound area.
His decoy carving career evolved from a one time love for shaping surfboards, which began at an early age. His decoys are influenced greatly by the simplistic elegance of working decoys from coastal North Carolina to Long Island, NY. In addition to the carving, Jerry paints all the decoys himself.

“Inspecting and maintaining your power tools isn’t just important for the tool’s performance,” said David Fairbanks, CEO of eReplacementParts.com. “It’s important for safety as well.” eReplacementParts.com recommends performing the following inspections to ensure tools are in proper working condition.
Check for broken parts and loose screws.
It’s important to check equipment such as lawn mowers, chainsaws and trimmers for loose screws and damage from last season and fix it accordingly. “Sometimes things break and you forget about it when you haven’t used the tool for a few months,” said Mark Sodja, eReplacementParts.com’s outdoor equipment specialist. “It’s important to thoroughly inspect your tools before using them. If the tool is broken, you can find parts and repair tutorials on eReplacementParts.com.”
Check spark plugs, air filters and fuel filters.
Checking and replacing spark plugs, air filters and fuel filters will extend the life of the tool and burn gas more efficiently“ "Checking and changing spark plugs, air filters and fuel filters is simple,” Sodja said. “Anybody can do it themselves with the proper instructions. I provide short tutorials on how to perform these tasks and more on the eReplacementParts.com YouTube page at http://www.youtube.com/ereplacementparts.”
Change oil
Start the season off with a fresh oil change to ensure your engine will run powerfully and dependably. “Fresh oil will keep the engine’s moving parts lubricated and operating smoothly,” Sodja said.
Sharpen or replace blades
Inspect lawn mower and chainsaw blades to determine whether they should be sharpened or replaced. It’s important to have sharp blades to keep cuts clean and reduce work time. “Replace the blade if you notice it is damaged. Otherwise, a good sharpening will keep it cutting smoothly,” said Sodja. “You can generally sharpen a blade one to three times before you need to replace it.”
Clean
Finally, it’s important to make sure lawn and garden power tools are clean from last season’s debris. “If you didn’t do it before storing it away for winter, you’ll want to clean the lawn mower undercarriage, trimmer motor casings and chainsaw chain to ensure it is in top working condition.” eReplacementParts.com offers replacement parts for a wide variety of lawn and garden equipment brands. Visit http://www.ereplacementparts.com/lawn-equipment-parts.html for a complete list of part brands.

“We are thrilled to have ITPro Services on board as our partner in Mexico” said Ilan Oosting, Chief Executive Officer of JMango. “Mexico is a very important market to us because of the potential of the opportunities provided by their thriving mobile industry” he continued. “We believe our new partnership will help us realize that potential and we really look forward to seeing the results.”
Norberto Ramírez, Chief Executive Officer of ITPro Services was just as enthusiastic. “Mobile is a great industry to be in right now” he said. He added, “Mobile payments and banking has a bright future here in Mexico, and JMango with its extensive line of world-class mobile solutions is the right company to go with into this market. We couldn’t think of any company better to enter into a partnership with.”
In addition to JMango’s mobile solution packages, ITPro Services will also be able to use JMango’s patented mobile development platform to create custom applications for their clients. This proprietary platform allows developers to create and deploy applications to multiple mobile operating systems using a single line of code, effectively reducing development hours and the associated costs massively. The application currently supports over 90% of all of the mobile devices in the market today from smartphones to feature phones and tablets.
“JMango’s platform will be a key tool for us” said Ramírez “Mobile penetration has seen constant growth in Mexico with an estimated 80% of the population owning a mobile phone but only around 20% of these being smartphones. JMango’s mobile development platform and its capability to deliver applications of less than a 100KB to the most basic MIDP 2.0 phones and its ability to communicate via binary SMS makes it the perfect tool for us to deploy applications tailored to our market” he added.
JMango has been expanding the past few months with new partnerships with key companies across the globe. The company has also just recently opened new offices in Hong Kong and the USA.
“Mexico and its high reliance on mobile communications makes it the ideal springboard for us” said Ilan. “This is only the first step of many as we strive towards expanding deeper into the valuable Latin American market” he concluded.

Release of Equipment Manager Software:
DSI has announced the launch of Equipment Manager, targeted for agencies that need to track service due on equipment and save time tracking down tools and gear. The software tells you who has it, where it is, when it is due back.
The program reports when an inspection, repair, or cleaning is due on items such as parts, laptops, hoses, pagers, radios, pagers, and terminals. It is easy to check equipment in and out to each apparatus and between stations. You can also track inspections of buildings, extinguishers, hydro testing, hose inventory, repairs, SCUBA gear, maintenance of the station, training records, and maintenance on vehicles and equipment (NFPA 1851). The inventory module tracks consumable supplies as well. “Checkmate will improve performance and is an affordable program for even those with a few employees,” stated Bill Allen, Process Control Consultant.
Cost Justification:
It requires less than a minute to check an item in and out, and cuts hours off equipment checks and inspections. Loss of time and malfunctioning gear can be a major overhead cost for departments. Our customers see a typical payback with the Equipment Manager within 3-4 months,” states Alison Falco, President of Dynamic Systems. Contact: Rob Freeman, V.P. Business Development, 800-342-3999.
