Below are some simple steps you can take to help ensure your deadlift instruments remain in service, with minimal downtime, for many years to come.
Use
* Manipulate your Land Surveying instruments carefully as you would treat a newborn baby. Do not drop or jar an instrument. Just because a manufacturer States that your instrument can survive a fall of distance, that does not mean that the application must be tested. The user must take credit as a statement of quality and not a license to operate. An instrument can "survive" a fall, but calibration can be lost and/or other problems or failures may develop in the future.
* Although Land Surveying instruments are designated as quality weather-resistant and weatherproof sometimes, do not allow instruments to be exposed to dust, heat or humidity. If possible, clean after each use.
* Try to ensure that a tuning of instruments in the field are protected from accidental impact, vehicles and heavy construction machinery. Configure the unit in an out of place so if it is possible, and if not use traffic cones, barriers or flags to provide a buffer.
Transport
* Always correctly put your land surveying instruments in storage before transporting cases, ensuring it is properly cushioned. Make sure that the complete inner foam (not missing pieces, or removed) and the foam is fixed to the outer case. Place all cables, receivers, chargers, spare batteries, clips, etc and all the other accessories in its proper place. Never invade space instrument with accessories or the case will not be able to serve its purpose.
* Just because deadlift instruments are placed correctly in storage cases, this does not mean that you can handle the case more or less. The instrument and case should never be dropped or impacted.
* When you're carrying Land Surveying instruments in a vehicle, make sure that it is securely so it doesn't slip or knock around. The best way to protect your instrument during transport, should put it on a piece of foam in a storage bin and secure with elastic cord, to prevent the case hitting around against the truck body or compartment.
Care
* Keep the Earth clean of surveying instruments
* Keep the land surveying instruments calibrated and served
* Keep the battery terminals clean and free of corrosion. Do not leave the batteries in the unit for a long period when not in use.
