LookinGood.com, a website that seriously refuses to take beauty and grooming seriously, kicks off a four-part Power Tools for Women Week on Monday, Nov. 2. The series includes a look at vibrating mascara, airbrushing, the Tinge Razor and facial massagers. LookinGood is an informative, but playful look at the 3 P’s of Vanity – Products, Processes and Plastic Surgery - the real, the ridiculous and everything in between.
“The cosmetics industry alone is a $50 billion-a-year industry, which says something about how seriously people take their appearance,” says founder and Chief Vanity Officer Gina Maniscalco. “We try to lighten things up a bit. At LookinGood, we explore all the facets of making ourselves presentable, then look in the mirror and laugh. It sounds superficial, but it isn’t superficial if it works.”
The Internet has plenty of beauty sites, but LookinGood.com and a bimonthly newsletter present a unique point of view on a daily basis. Its often biting humor is mixed with thorough research and reporting, and reader feedback is encouraged. Power Tools Week for Women starts Monday, Nov. 2. LookinGood.com will also feature a Power Tools Week for Men beginning Nov. 16.
