Zeus Precision Charts are being relaunched as the Roebuck Zeus Chart and will be available exclusively from Buck & Hickman. First published in the 1960s, the pocket-sized booklet contains data charts and tables for the drawing office, toolroom and workshop. Despite the advent of the PC, it remains an invaluable source of information since it fits inside a shirt pocket and with its laminated pages will not pick up dirt, grease or oil.
The 28 pages contain data on standardised drill sizes and decimal equivalents, tapping drills and clearances for metric and imperial threads, BS4500 tolerances, hardness comparison tables, jig boring co-ordinates for equally spaced holes, allowances for sheet metal bending and Morse tapers.
It also contains long tables for sine, cosine, tangents and cotangents. Marketing Manager Simon Armer says 'Bringing the Zeus Chart under the Roebuck brand name is an obvious move'.
'Both have a tried and tested reputation in industry for dependability and both have been supporting engineers in their work for many years'. 'Even in today's information age the Zeus Chart represents a useful source of information'. 'Most of us can think of areas on the shop floor or on site where we would not dream of taking a laptop'. 'It is a credit to its usefulness that the format of the Zeus Chart has remained largely unchanged to this day'. The Roebuck brand is exclusive to Buck & Hickman who offer an extensive range of products containing over 60,000 tools, maintenance and health and safety products.
